I guess I'll be doing both then.
Me switching to Windows 7 seems to have been both a good and a bad thing. Virtualdub doesn't seem to want to recognize any audio codecs at all in W7, so I had to do everything in XP Mode. The good news is that this means I can bring back the LAME mp3 codec again (since it wouldn't work for me in Vista I had to use fraunhofer-radium instead). The bad news is that this means a bit more work for me.
Enough about that though, I feel I've been keeping you guys waiting for too long.

Didn't look into it much, as I haven't watched the last couple of episodes yet (hell, I never watch my own .avi releases at all except for a really quick look every episode to make sure it doesn't look horrible) so I don't know how much faith you should put in my observational skills.
The largest difference I noticed is definitely in the colors, which become more washed out and seem a little lifeless. If you know what I mean. On the other hand, that applies for the regular re-encodes too. Though I'm not sure if it's to the same extent.

I downloaded the HD avi and its looks pretty much the same to me. Maybe since I don't really pay attention to it and just enjoy the episode. ^_^.
