I'm glad that my favorite series is now the best-selling manga. I knew it was only a matter of time before it reached number one. About Naruto and Bleach, I'm sure they'll never be able to catch up with our beloved series

More than Dragonball, yet Dragonball is much more popular....for now. I think when the younger generation who grew up on OP get older, that might change. Anyway, great news. 158mil copies! A few of those are Japanese I've converted. 
Glad to see Slam Dunk up there too.

Nope. So that is the reason why it isnt at list... but since this is only for shounen jumps mangas One Piece might not to be best selling manga, actually I were doubted that from beginning by thinking Conan would be more popular but I might still be wrong...

Not any series that has been ongoing for over 10volumes but there are also lots of amazing mangas what happens to be also lots of shorter that OP in shounen jump but there are tons of other magazines where things like berseker, gantz, meintein conan etc... is released and I still think conan is more popular than OP but since I dont have any facts to show I can be wrong also...

Actually OP is big in Japan manga-wise. I don't think DC will overtake OP.
Based from the Oricon chart last year (2008), One Piece sold almost over 6 million copies nationwide.
Detective Conan sold only for 1.7 million copies for volumes 61, 62 and 63.
I don't have a combined info on overall sales though, on how much Detective Conan sold in 2008, but it's safe to assume that DC sold below Gintama's overall sales (2,390,196).

Dragon Ball is actually the best selling one, if you compare volumes sold vs how many different ones there are. However, it still pleases me that OP is number one in total volumes sold :-) Just my thoughts.........

Actually not... atleast Slam Dunk has better ratio currently...
And by those links given by peacemaker I just have to admit conan sell worse tha op globally... my toughts just based on few local markets ammounts of sold conan and op books where conan happened to be sold better...
