I don't think it's a complete waste. Perhaps such an emotional pain will be the key to him realizing the potential power of haki that he has hidden within?

Aw man now that i think about it i could care less about this weeks chapter, its next week that i really want to see. What the heck is everyone gonna do now. Are they gonna escape or they just gonna go for revenge. God its like I'm waiting two weeks for this now. Gonna be so painful.

Early LQ-MQ raw out and all I have to say is holy shit...I never thought Oda would kill off Ace so early in the story, especially after revealing his true bloodline. I'll definitely hold my judgement on how this arc wraps up since there's still a whole lot more that can go down.

I can't imagine Oda killing Ace and Whitebeard...hopefully Luffy has some berserk haki outburst allowing Whitebeard and his crew to pull out. The world of One Piece would be in complete chaos if Whitebeard dies now (just look at Shanks and Kaidou).

I keep looking back at the pictures... it's like watching a train wreck, you can't stay away.
I just keep looking at the peaceful expression on Ace's face... then Luffy's expression.
Another thing that makes it just that much more heartbreaking is the fact that you can barely make out Ace's WB tattoo on the last page.
The fact of that just screams at me... even more than Luffy's face on that page.

Oh, and poor Garp, too. =/

Before, I was so looking forward to the animation of the current chapters but now... myeh...

Even though Luffy will most likely not be able to even touch Akainu, but maybe something like this could happen and make Luffy stronger?

Yep, its the end of the Great Pirate Age. With Ace and soon Whitebeard and his crew, the balance of power shifts to the World Government now. So think more Tequila Wolf scenarios across the world.

At least until Luffy gets his act together after the 3 year timeskip.

Nah, with Ace's death comes the end of Whitebeard too. His whole purpose of living was to make Ace the pirate king, but since Ace is dead, Whitebeard will probably go out with a bang by destroying Marineford and the Marines. I wouldn't be surprised if most or all of his followers go down with him.

O yes, i really dont think that Luffy will go berserk. Everyone will go berserk. Whitebeard Pirates have always the connotation that if you mess with one of us you mess with all of us. But still, there's the captain's order.

I wish the animation of this chapter be more heavy. Like watching the burial of Going Merry. Just thinking about it moved me to tears..='(

I guess the completely vanished Vivrecard doesn't leave much room for imagination.
Having the pictures really changed the perspective of the chapter, I must admit I cried a little and I will probably cry more when the actual chapter comes out and when the anime gets there. Since he has done it once, I hope Oda will give Akainu a gruesome death at the hands of an haki powered Luffy.
I just thought of something very important. Not only is this the first current time death but it's also the death of a devil fruit user. Maybe we will finally get to know what happens to the fruit when a DF user dies. A question that has been on a lot of people's minds for years.

That was some hard hitting stuff.... It sure as hell is dissapointing to see Ace die after all these chapters of trying to save him!

I think Ace will return in some form, maybe I can't comprehend him leaving the series as of yet but here's some of my guesses as to what may happen.

Ace is stunted to life by Luffy's Haki, Ika stunts Ace back to life, Dragon jumps in with some sort of power that changes things, after the time skip (if there even is one) Blackbeard's crew member ressurects him and makes them stay in their crew (I can't see how BB will get the upper hand any other way).

DON'T LEAVE US ACE!!!

It's so hard for any fan to accept this considering Oda said he wouldn't kill a character, many other things too, the supernatural factors such as the Zombies, the Kuma clones and Ika's super powered hormones.

You know what, I refuse. I refuse to to believe that Ace will die from this. Blood from the mouth, a hole in the chest, Luffy's taken those multiple time and he still came back to kick ass. And Ace is supposed to be stronger than Luffy. I have faith in Oda.
